Deep within the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa’s North West Province, bordering Botswana, lies the exclusive Molori Safari Lodge. The main lodge comprises four dining areas, a library, a large living room and bar. The living room and bar areas open onto an outdoor deck featuring a hot spa bath and twin infinity pools. Not only is Madikwe Game Reserve renowned for the ultimate Big 5 viewing experience but it is home to the Super Seven, which additionally includes cheetah and wild dog. There are an estimated 400 wild dogs still surviving in South Africa and a large concentration of these are thriving in the Madikwe habitat, as well as a high concentration of rhino. Bird lovers will be awed by over 350 bird species who also call this their home.
Conservation is an active and important part of life here. By arrangement guests can be part of an extraordinary hands-on rhino tagging experience, participating in the notching, DNA sampling and micro chipping of the rhino’s horns. Guests can also participate in dog tracking experiences and learn more about this extraordinary and highly endangered species.
Guests can choose to unwind in their private decks pools or with a cocktail, a book or a cigar on Molori’s many open relaxation decks. The main lodge library offers a large selection of popular books, and a fine selection of imported cigars.
Spa treatments, a sauna and steam room will send you home relaxed and rejuvenated. Perfect for winter time relaxation are the heated spa baths.
A junior ranger programme is available for children as well as culinary classes. Molori’s outstanding cuisine combines the best of local produce and international trends with Eastern and Western influences.
